Your First Visit
Welcome to our dental office. At Stambaugh Family Dental, we are committed to providing patients of all ages with the highest level of dental care available. We want your dental experiences with us to be the best you've ever had. When you come to our Springfield, OR dental office for the first time, we will spend some time getting to know you, providing a thorough examination, listening to your priorities, and discussing goals for your healthy smile.
What to Bring to Your First Appointment
Take a few minutes before your appointment to fill out our new patient forms. You can find these on our website, or you can call our receptionist to request a copy mailed to you.
If you have insurance, be sure to bring along your insurance card. Also, bring along a photo identification card as well as a method of payment for your examination for your portion of the examination. Payment is due when services are rendered.
Bring along a list of any medication you might be on as well as dosages; this is pertinent information we will want to include in your medical history. Alert us as to any medical conditions or allergies you might have.
It can be stressful to visit a new dental office, so if you have any questions, we encourage you to bring along a list. Dr. Stambaugh and his team have plenty of time set aside for your appointment to ensure we discuss everything on your list.
What to Expect With Your First Dental Examination
As part of your initial examination, Dr. Dan Stambaugh will address the following areas:
- A thorough examination of your teeth and gums
- A periodontal evaluation to check the health of your gums
- An oral cancer screening to check for abnormalities in the soft tissues of the mouth
If you have made arrangements ahead of time, our hygienist might also clean your teeth at your first appointment. It is sometimes difficult to assess what "type" of cleaning you'll need, so having past dental records sent to us is always helpful.
Amenities You Can Expect
Your time is valuable, and we pride ourselves on running on time. Until you are escorted back into the treatment area, we invite you to help yourself to a bottle of water or a cup of coffee from our coffee bar.
Once you are settled into one of our heated massage chairs in the treatment room, let us know if you would like a warm blanket or neck pillow to make yourself more comfortable. We invite you to enjoy your favorite program on the television, which you’ll find above each chair. Our goal is that you stay relaxed the entire time you are with us.
