Our Springfield, OR dental clinic provides the general dentistry your family needs to improve and protect their overall oral health.
Routine Checkups and Cleanings
Biannual dental visits are the foundation of any good preventive dentistry routine. At Stambaugh Family Dentistry, we recommend patients see us twice each year for examinations and cleanings. This gives Dr. Dan Stambaugh an opportunity to keep an eye out for oral health diseases, such as decay and infection, and provide treatment for developing issues.
We recommend regular dental x-rays to see what is below the surface of the teeth and gums. For most patients, we find that annual x-rays are adequate, but Dr. Stambaugh will discuss the state of your oral health to determine the optimal schedule.
Dental cleanings are customized for each patient. Those with gum disease might benefit from cleanings more frequently than twice a year.
We also provide fluoride applications and dental sealants to help prevent the development of tooth decay. If you are a teeth grinder, we can fit you with a bruxism nightguard to protect your teeth from undue wear.
Even with proper preventive care, dental issues can pop up. When tooth decay appears or there is a trauma to the mouth, Dr. Stambaugh can make repairs to teeth to protect your oral health. He can talk to you about whether a filling, crown, or dental bridge might be your best option so you can make an informed decision about restorations.
Although keeping your natural teeth is always our goal, in some situations extraction might make the most sense. Dr. Stambaugh has an experienced and gentle touch our patients appreciate. If extraction is deemed necessary, he can go over your tooth replacement options, including dental implants.
Many patients enjoy good oral health but believe the look of their smile has room for improvement. We can help. Cosmetic dentistry procedures today are more accessible than ever before, and we would love to talk to you about making improvements to the way your smile looks.
- Teeth whitening with our take-home whitening kits can make your smile up to four to six shades whiter and brighter.
- Veneers can hide dental issues including gaps, cracks, chips, and moderate misalignment, giving you a perfectly white, straight smile in just a few visits to our Springfield and Eugene area dental office.
- Tooth-colored restorations such as fillings provide a seamless way to prevent the spread of tooth decay, and we can also use the same composite material to fix minor cracks, chips, and gaps in your smile. Dental crowns can repair a compromised or unsightly tooth.
TMJ and Bruxism
Teeth-grinding, also known as bruxism, causes teeth to become worn down, which puts them at risk. Bruxism can also cause issues with the temporomandibular joint of your jaw, leading to headaches and other pain. A nightguard can protect your teeth and eliminate your pain.
